Funding the Future of Freedom
What is Funding the Future of Freedom?
The Freedom21 Federal Credit Union was created by the Environmental Conservation Organization, now Freedom21, Inc. (Sponsoring Organization) exclusively for individuals and organizations that are working to defend and advance the principles of freedom.
The Credit Union offers organization members of Freedom21, Inc., an opportunity to open an “Endowment Account” into which anyone may contribute. Organization members of Freedom21 that have established an “Endowment Account” are automatically a part of “Funding the Future of Freedom.” This program will help these freedom organizations build an endowment to strengthen their work in the 21st century. You can help Fund the Future of Freedom, and your favorite organization, and help yourself as well.
How Does it Work?
If your organization has established an “Endowment Account” in the Freedom21 Federal Credit Union, you have the opportunity to take advantage of this special offer to join the Sponsoring Organization (Freedom21) which entitles you to membership in the Freedom21 Federal Credit Union, where one-third of your membership fee – $15.00 – will be deposited
directly into the “Endowment Account” of your organization. When you join the Credit Union, you not only help yourself, you help your organization, and you help the freedom movement.
Look here to see the organizations who have already established their Endowment Account.
The law requires members of the Credit Union to also be a member of the Sponsoring Organization. Through this special offer, the membership fee of $55 is distributed like this:
$30.00 - Membership in Freedom21 (normally $45)
$15.00 - Deposited in your organization’s “Endowment Account”
$10.00 - Opening Deposit of your Share Savings Account in the Freedom21
Federal Credit Union.
You also receive a premium package worth nearly twice the membership fee.
You will get:
- Henry Lamb's new book "The Rise of Global Governance" - $20.00 value
- “Environmentalism” - the new 48-minute DVD by Fred Gielow, that provides many examples of how environmental policies have abused freedom without benefiting the environment - $25.00 value
- "Sustainable Development: Connecting the Dots” - the new, three-part DVD presentation by Henry Lamb that takes a comprehensive look at what Sustainable Development is, how it became the policy of the land, and who made it happen - $25.00 value
Why Join the Credit Union?
When you borrow money from a commercial institution, the interest you pay winds up as profit in the pockets of the lending institution’s shareholders. In a credit union, its members are the shareholders. Its members get the profit. Every penny of profit must be returned to the members in the form of dividends.
Your shares are measured by the amount of your deposits. The more you save, the more dividends you earn. There’s no reason why people who are involved in the freedom movement should enrich others, when they can be enriching themselves.
Moreover, because the Freedom21 Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit organization, it pays no taxes. This means that interest rates on loans are usually a little lower and dividends on savings are usually a little higher than those offered by commercial institutions. You benefit two ways: you get better rates on your loans and your savings, and you get your share of any profits that are earned. And, you can also benefit your favorite freedom organization.
Because the Freedom21 Federal Credit Union is regulated by the federal government, membership will be a two-step process.
Step 1: Join using the secure form here. When you submit your initial membership fee of $55.00, your membership in Freedom21 will be entered, and $15.00 will be deposited into your organization’s “Endowment Account.” You will then receive your premium package.
Step 2: You will receive account opening forms from the Freedom21 Federal Credit Union, or you can go to their website: www.freedom21fcu.org and download the application form. To meet federal requirements, these forms have to be completed according to the instructions. When the completed forms are returned, your Credit Union Account will be processed and $10.00 will be deposited into your Share Savings account. You will then receive your account documentation. Once you become a member of the Credit Union, all the members of your immediate family are eligible to join.
